Congress leader Rahul Gandhi opted out from initiating the No Confidence debate from the Opposition\u2019s side on Monday. According to reports, Rahul Gandhi was likely to open the debate today in the Parliament. Nonetheless, due to this sudden decision, Gaurav Gogoi took the charge and initiated the debate in the Lok Sabha. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As soon as the debate was initiated by Gogoi, the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders mocked the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi over the sudden backoff. The BJP said that the Wayanad MP developed cold feet. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi asserted that they wanted to listen to Rahul Gandhi and questioned what happened in the last five minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Initiating the No Confidence debate, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi noted that they were compelled to bring the No Confidence Motion and that it was never about the members but about justice in Manipur. He said that INDIA has brought this Motion for Manipur and that the state needs justice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He mentioned that they brought the No Confidence Motion to break Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s silence. He put forward three questions to the Prime Minister namely, why did he not visit Manipur till date, why did it take almost 80 days to finally speak on Manipur violence and when he did speak it was for 30 seconds, and why has the Chief Minister of the state not been sacked so far. He claimed that the Double-engine government failed in Manipur. The Congress MP further claimed that the BJP\u2019s politics led to a never seen division between two communities as in Manipur, apparently creating two states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, BJP\u2019s Nishikant Dubey initiated No Confidence motion from the other side after Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. The BJP leader said that he stood opposed to this motion and claimed that Rahul Gandhi won\u2019t be able to speak after his defence in the debate.
