Home Minister Amit Shah said the no-confidence motion by opposition parties against the Narendra Modi government had the ulterior motive of deceiving the people of the country. Shah said both Parliament and the people have trust in the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his speech in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, he said opposition introduces no-trust votes to assess the government’s strength in the House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amit Shah said the Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government was the first post-Independence government to secure a two-thirds majority achieved through the confidence of the people twice. PM Modi holds the distinction of being the most industrious prime minister since independence as he worked long hours, almost 17 hours a day, for the welfare and development of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shah said PM Modi raised the slogan, “Corruption, quit India; dynastic politics, quit India; appeasement, quit India.” He said the no-trust motion revealed the true character of alliances and compared it to PV Narasimha Rao’s tenure when a such a vote led to a bribery scandal, landing several leading politicians in jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Attacking the Congress, the Home Minister said the party enjoyed a long 35-year tenure in power, leaving an indelible mark through various decisions. Similarly, within the span of nine years under the NDA, more than 50 significant resolutions have been enacted, which will also be etched in history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over three decades, the country endured dynastic politics, corruption, and caste-based divisions, all of which Prime Minister Modi effectively dismantled, ushering in an era of performance-driven politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shah said the people of India are vigilant, well-informed, and astute. While the government prioritises the politics of development, other parties resort to enticements to safeguard their government and principles. In contrast to Congress’ loan waivers amounting to Rs 70,000 crore, the NDA government\u2019s approach favours avoiding loans altogether. Through the direct transfer benefit scheme, the government has extended benefits to individuals without indulging in giveaways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
