Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Parliament today at 4 PM to give a reply on the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition against the NDA government. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday affirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will mark his presence in the Lok Sabha before Speaker Om Birla adjourned the House for the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The no-confidence debate was initiated by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Tuesday after Rahul Gandhi opted out from initiating the debate. For the past two days, the Lok Sabha witnessed fiery discussion by both the opposition and the government on the violence in the northeastern state of Manipur for over three months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Initiating the debate, MP Gaurav Gogoi asserted that the INDIA bloc was forced to bring in the no-confidence motion against the government to break the Prime Minister\u2019s silence on Manipur. He alleged that a government which talks about \u2018one India has created two Manipurs, one living in hills and the other in the valley. Following, a high tension debate was fought between both sides in the past two days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On August 9, speaking at the no-confidence motion, Union Minister Amit Shah slammed the opposition for creating \u2018confusion\u2019 by moving no-confidence motion. The Union Minister claimed that the purpose of the no-confidence motion is only to spread confusion. He added that the opposition is neither farmer friendly, nor poor-friendly and nor backward friendly. He continued that they are not worried about anyone except their own family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, though there will be a vote at the end of the debate, the BJP-led NDA government will hardly get affected from the process. As per reports, the BJP led NDA government has 331 members in the Lower House, with 303 members from BJP, significantly far beyond the majority mark of 272.
