A tragic incident unfolded in Maharashtra’s Gondia district on Friday, resulting in the demise of a sub-adult tiger due to a car collision within the Navegaon-Nagzira corridor. The young tiger, approximately two years old, suffered severe injuries from the collision with a four-wheeler while crossing the road at Murdoli forest along the Kohmara Gondia road around 10 pm on Thursday. Tragically, the injured feline could not overcome its injuries, passing away en route to the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pramod Panchbhai, Deputy Conservator of Forest (DCF) for the Gondia division, revealed that after the collision, the wounded tiger retreated into the underbrush. Passersby promptly notified the forest department, leading to a rescue operation that spanned until 7:30 am the following day. The tiger was located in compartment 419 of the Goregaon range within the Gondia division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the efforts to save the animal’s life, it succumbed to its injuries while being transported to the wildlife rescue center in Gorewada, Nagpur. In adherence to the protocols set forth by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), a post-mortem examination will be conducted at the Gorewada wildlife rescue center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
