In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old medical aspirant committed suicide after failing to secure the required marks at National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in two attempts. The student was found hanging in his room in Chennai\u2019s Chromepet. He was hurried to a hospital where he was declared dead. The deceased was identified as Jagadeeswaran and the incident took place on August 12. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, the 19-year-old was suffering bouts of depression. While the police found no suicide note at the spot, his father Selvasekar blamed the NEET administration for his son\u2019s death. The father was also found dead on Monday after he hanged himself. Reportedly, the father was all prepared to protest against the NEET for its removal in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister also expressed his condolences and urged students not to take such a drastic step. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Slamming Governor RN Ravi for not giving assent to a bill that stated ban NEET in Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin asserted that his government has brought a bill on the proposed legislation in the Assembly Twice. He added that they had sent the bill to the Governor who had put it in abeyance at first. Later, the governor sent it back under pressure, claimed the Chief Minister. He further mentioned that his government passed the resolution again in the Assembly. The governor was supposed to give assent, but he sent it to the President. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
CM Stalin claimed that the Governor had no authority over the bill and was only pretending to have power. He termed the governor as an individual with a cold heart. He continued that no matter how many lives are lost like Jagadeeshan, the governor\u2019s heart is not going to change.
