President Droupadi Murmu on Monday said India has not only reclaimed its rightful position on the international stage but has also increased its influence in the global order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her speech on the eve of Independence Day, President Murmu highlighted India’s pivotal role in advancing developmental and humanitarian objectives worldwide, particularly in its leadership within international platforms such as the G-20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Given that the G-20 represents a substantial portion of the world’s population, she viewed this as an unparalleled opportunity to steer global discourse towards a positive trajectory. As India holds G-20 presidency, President Murmu expressed confidence that the nation can guide decision-making in trade, finance, and human development to ensure equitable progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President said the overarching identity as an Indian citizen takes precedence over the multiple identities of caste, creed, and language. She said each individual in India is regarded as an equal citizen with equal opportunities and rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emphasizing the critical role of women in India’s journey towards independence, President Murmu celebrated the contributions of great women freedom fighters like Matangini Hazra and Kanaklata Baruah, who courageously laid down their lives for the nation. She also highlighted the significant role of Mahatma Gandhi’s wife, Kasturba Gandhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Murmu commended the government and the Reserve Bank of India for effectively addressing inflation concerns. Reflecting on India’s transformative moment in 1947, she noted that the nation not only gained freedom from foreign rule but also acquired the ability to shape its own destiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Murmu highlighted the significant role of education as the primary tool for enabling social empowerment, noting the positive impact of the National Education Policy. She emphasized that changes have commenced due to the 2020 education policy, which is expected to usher in numerous transformative shifts in the nation’s landscape in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Murmu urged all citizens to prioritize the empowerment of women, encouraging sisters and daughters to confront challenges with bravery and stride forward in their lives. She pointed out that the progress of women was a fundamental principle of India’s struggle for independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
