Amid the ongoing suspense over the allegiance of former Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik, who\u2019s out on an interim bail, Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar has reportedly had a telephonic conversation with Malik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports claim, Pawar dialled Malik to enquire about his health and was not just a political exercise. It also claimed that Malik during the phone call told Pawar that at present his present his primary focus is look after his health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Malik, a former Minister in the Uddhav Thackeray cabinet was arrested in a money laundering case in February 2022 and ever since then was in Jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Supreme Court granted an interim bail to him for two months on medical grounds, three days later on August 14, he was discharged from a hospital in Mumbai, where he was undergoing a treatment while being in a judicial custody. The 64-year-old has been fighting with a kidney ailment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ever since, the news of Malik\u2019s bail surfaced, suspense is hovering in the political circle of Maharashtra especially within the two factions of the NCP- the Ajit Pawar faction and Sharad Pawar faction over which side is Malik going to chose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Given his influence and stature, both the factions are trying their best to reach out to Malik and win over him. However, Malik soon after his release had announced his loyalty towards the original NCP and that he would not be joining any faction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amid speculations of his allegiance apart, Ajit Pawar faction\u2019s leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare on Tuesday, reached Malik\u2019s home to meet him. Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar\u2019s daughter and NCP MP Supriya Sule had also reached to meet Malik at the hospital on the day he was discharged from the hospital.
