The Sector 51 metro station now offers a new Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payment facility, which was inaugurated by Lokesh M, the Managing Director of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Travellers on Noida Metro no longer need to worry about not having change to purchase tickets. They can now conveniently utilize the UPI payment option at all stations throughout the rail network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UPI facility for purchasing tickets from counters is now functional at all stations of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro corridor, an official of the NMRC said. The official added that the use of cash, credit and debit cards for purchasing tickets at the counter or the NMRC smart card at the customer care centre at stations will continue as usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Aqua Line, which spans 29.7 km and features 21 stations, now connects the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The project was completed at a cost of Rs 5,503 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apart from this, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation is aiming to increase its non-fare box revenue through its newly-renovated restaurant, which has been relocated from Depot station to a spacious 300 sqm area near Sector 137 station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The restaurant is set to reopen in a month’s time. According to NMRC spokesperson Nisha Wadhwan, the company is currently preparing the necessary infrastructure for the restaurant, following the successful transfer of the metro coach to Sector 137 station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, the metro coach cum restaurant\u2019s license is valid for nine years but may be extended if all sides agree to do so. The metro carriage is being renovated in accordance with City Supersmart\u2019s business plan. There will be a restaurant kitchen outside the coach. The company also has the NMRC nod to develop a circular area around the coach as a landscape area with seating arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sector 137 is primarily a residential area with significant real estate development in recent years. The Noida Metro is a fast transit metro system that runs from Noida Sector 51 to Depot Station in Greater Noida, as per the reports.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
