On Thursday, 74 people died as a result of the monsoon rains in Himachal Pradesh; rescue personnel had discovered another body buried beneath the ruins of a Shiva temple in Shimla, and two more had perished in Chamba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Three significant landslides in Shimla, including the one at the Shiva temple at Summer Hill, resulted in the deaths of twenty-one individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the 55 days since the monsoon arrived, the state has experienced 113 landslides, costing the Public Works Department (PWD) 2,491 crores in losses and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) 1,000 crores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to experts, unprofessional constructions in the ecologically vulnerable Himalayas, declining forest cover, and buildings next to streams that restrict water flow are to blame for the frequent landslides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Chamba, and the surrounding districts, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate rainfall with thundershowers in a few spots and isolated spells of heavy rainfall. Starting on Sunday, the state had three days of torrential rain. After Tuesday, there were fewer raindrops, and on Thursday, there were only light showers in a few locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the beginning of the monsoon on June 24, at least 217 people have perished in rain-related events in Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The disastrous downpour in Himachal has relocated entire families in addition to destroying the state’s infrastructure. Three generations of a family of seven were obliterated in the Shimla temple landslide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seven family members, including three children, were inside the Shiv temple when it fell, according to officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to personal loss accounts, the livelihoods of hundreds of people in the rain-soaked state have also been severely impacted.
