{"id":485596,"date":"2023-08-22T13:42:05","date_gmt":"2023-08-22T08:12:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=485596"},"modified":"2023-08-22T13:42:09","modified_gmt":"2023-08-22T08:12:09","slug":"pune-thieves-astrologer-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/pune-thieves-astrologer-robbery\/","title":{"rendered":"Thieves consult astrologer for auspicious time for robbery in Pune, arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A case of robbery has been reported from Maharashtra\u2019s Pune where a group of five men consulted with an astrologer for an auspicious time before carrying out a robbery of rupees one crore in Baramati. &nbsp;&nbsp;<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to police, five men broke into the house of a realtor, namely Sagar Gophane, beat up his wife, tied her and fled away with cash, gold ornaments and other items. Police said thieves fled with around Rs 1 crore when Sagar Gophane was out of town. &nbsp;Police said on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A case was registered by the police at Baramati Taluka police station based on the victim\u2019s complaint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police have arrested all the accused in the case including the fortune teller Ramchandra Chava for getting involved in the crime. The five accused have been identified as Sachin Jagdhane, Ravindra Bhosale, Rayba Chavan, Duryodhan alias Dipak Jadhav and Nitin More. All five accused confessed to police that they had consulted with an astrologer for the best time before committing the crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police have recovered some amount of Rs\u00a076 lakh. Further investigation is underway, police added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pune rural police released a press statement which revealed that Trupti, who filed the complaint, resides in Devkate Nagar of Baramati with her husband Sagar Gofne and two children. A group of men broke into the woman&#8217;s house around 8 pm on April 21, while her husband was at the Tirupati Balaji temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They allegedly thrashed Trupti in front of her children, tied her hands and legs, and gagged her with a cloth piece. They allegedly looted cash of Rs 95.30 lakh, gold ornaments of Rs 11,59,300, and two cell phones of Rs 35,000 from the house and escaped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After receiving information about the incident, Ankit Goyal, superintendent of Pune rural police, launched an investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To gather evidence about the suspects, investigating teams reviewed CCTV footage from multiple cameras in the vicinity of the crime scene and other areas. Descriptions of some of the accused were acquired by the police from those videos.
