The railway bridge is located over the Kurung River connecting Bairabi to Sairang. It is reported that at the time of the accident nearly 30-45 construction workers were on the bridge.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressing grief over the tragic incident, railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced ex-gratia compensation of Rs 10 lakh in case of death, Rs 2 lakhs to people who suffered from grievous injuries and Rs 50,000 to those who suffered from minor injuries. The railway minister added that NDRF, state administration and railway officials are at the site and that rescue operations are underway.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Grieved by the unfortunate incident in Mizoram. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he affirmed that he spoke to the governor and the Chief Minister of the state. He also urged the Congress workers in the state to provide all possible help in the relief and rescue efforts.
