Nearly thirty nine years ago, on April 2, 1984, the country created another history when Rakesh Sharma became the first Indian to travel to space. At that time, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had an historic conversation with Rakesh Sharma. The video of the same has surfaced once again on the social media platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As seen in the video, during the historic conversation former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi asked India&#8217;s renowned astronaut Rakesh Sharma who was in space at that time. The former Prime Minister asked what does India look like from up there? The astronaut replied that without any hesitation he can say, saare jahaan se achaa. He added that they are eating more than necessary and they are being served hot food. He continued that when they were docking the previous day, the crew members were already there and they had prepared food for them. He further mentioned that the flowers were readied and they were of plastics, as fresh ones could not be found there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indira Gandhi further informed Rakesh Sharma that he is the subject of the entire nation\u2019s attention. She congratulated him and voiced that it was a historic move, hoping that it will inspire young people and will also increase awareness of space exploration in the country. She also asked him about how he was feeling in space and whether it was comparable to how difficult his training had been on the earth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Astronaut Rakesh Sharma extended gratitude to the former Prime Minister and noted that although the training he and retired Air Commodore Ravish Malhotra received had been challenging, it had been very effective too.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly before Chandrayaan 3 landing, the first Indian in Space stated confidently that Chandrayaan 3 will have a safe landing.
