As Raksha Bandhan\u2019s gift, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced free bus service to the women in the state. Raksha Bandhan is a festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. According to reports, women across 14 districts in the state will be able to travel for free in city buses on August 30 and 31. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the order issued by Joint Secretary Kalyan Banerjee on Friday, the free bus travel facility will be facilitated by the Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) in Luckow, Kanpur, Meerut, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Moradabad, Jhansi, Bareilly, Gorakpur, Shahjahanpur, Agra and Mathura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As far as reports are concerned, this is not the first time that the Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government has initiated such a step on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The government has been providing free bus travel facilities to women on this festival for the last few years. This year, the festival will be celebrated on August 30 and 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the previous year, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took to X, formerly Twitter and stated that on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, the Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation should provide free travel facilities on buses for the safe travel of all the women of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every year, on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) provides free travel services for women passengers during the festival of Raksha Bandhan. As far as reports are concerned, around 8-10 lakh women avail this service every year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For years, Raksha Bandhan is considered to be a favourite festival among siblings where they engage in playful and lightheaded banter and the entire family comes together to be an eyewitness of the special moments.
