Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged the people of Delhi to help make the upcoming G20 Summit a success despite the inconvenience they might have to face due to the presence of several world leaders in Delhi next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing a public reception at the airport on his two nation visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought forgiveness from the residents of Delhi in advance for the inconvenience they might be facing owing to the arrangements for the G20 Summit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The G20 summit will be organised in the national capital from September 9 to 10. The summit is likely to be attended by more than 30 heads of states and top officials from the European Union and other invited guest countries, and 14 heads of international organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking about the restrictions in the national capital from September 8 – September 10, the Prime Minister acknowledged that the residents of the national capital might face inconvenience as traffic rules will be changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that from September 5 to September 15, there will be a lot of inconvenience, and that he apologises for that in advance. He mentioned that people who will attend the G20 Summit are the country\u2019s guests, therefore, traffic rules will be changed and will be stopped from going to several places but some things are necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that the residents of Delhi have got a greater responsibility for the G20. He added that they have the responsibility to ensure that the national flag continues to fly high with pride. He continued that though the entire country is the host of the G20 Summit, guests are coming to Delhi. He further underlined that people of the national capital have a special responsibility to make the G20 Summit a success. He continued that the people of Delhi must ascertain that the reputation of the nation is not affected one bit.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Delhi government notification on Wednesday stated that there will be public holidays in the national capital from September 8-10. All banks, financial institutions and commercial establishments will remain closed in the national capital.
