Google expanded its generative AI search experience in India and Japan on Thursday. Reportedly, India and Japan are the first countries outside the United States to experience the new AI-powered search feature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new AI-powered search feature, dubbed Search Generative Experience, will be available through Google\u2019s Search Labs in these markets and will launch a new feature with an objective to make it easier to find information in its AI-powered overviews. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a blogpost, Google announced that this week they launched Search Labs in the first countries outside US, India and Japan, thereby enabling people to opt into SGR in order to assist them for better understanding of topics, explore new viewpoints and insights and get things done more easily. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, Search Generative Experience, which was first announced at 2023\u2019s Google I\/O Developer conference in May, includes a conversational mode to Google Search, allowing users to ask Google questions about a topic and have it respond with answers, similar to AI chatbot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In India and Japan, internet users will be able to use generative AI capabilities in their local languages, either by typing a query or using voice input. In addition, in India, users will also be able to find a language toggle to aid multilingual speakers to easily switch back and forth between Hindi and English, and further they can also listen to languages , which is a popular reference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In both the countries, India and Japan, Search ads will continue to appear in dedicated ad slots throughout the page. Meanwhile, together with these updates, Search Generative Experience is also launching a new feature which will make it easier for internet users to discover and visit the web pages that support the information provided by Artificial Intelligence.
