The pilgrim was trekking towards the Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand. The incident took place near Rambara village when he was on his way to the shrine triggering a frantic rescue operation by his friend and locals in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The man on his way to Kedarnath shrine lost his balance and slipped into the Mandakini river. A video of the incident has gone viral across social media platforms. The video shows the man holding on to boulders as he struggles to stay afloat. At last, the rescuers succeeded in pulling the man from the water, braving the strong force from Mandakini river. Later, the State Disaster Response team also came to the spot to get involved in the rescue operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier on Sunday, an avalanche hit the Semeru mountains behind Kedarnath temple in Rudraprayag district in Kedarnath triggering panic among the pilgrims who were enroute to the shrine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>District disaster management officer of Rudraprayag, NK Rajwar stated that there were no casualty or damage to property from the incident. He added that the sector office at Kedarnath temple informed us that an avalanche struck the Sumeru mountains at around 7:30 am. The incident occurred about 3 to 4 km from the temple, near the saraswati river.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A video of the avalanche showed a huge mass of snow descending down the mountains even when some pilgrims walked towards the Kedarnath shrine in fear.
