{"id":487503,"date":"2023-09-08T15:02:53","date_gmt":"2023-09-08T09:32:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=487503"},"modified":"2023-09-08T15:02:59","modified_gmt":"2023-09-08T09:32:59","slug":"bypoll-results-bjp-tripura-congress-kerala","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/bypoll-results-bjp-tripura-congress-kerala\/","title":{"rendered":"Bypoll Results 2023: BJP wins in Tripura, Congress in Kerala, counting underway for 3 more Assembly seats in 3 states"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In Tripura&#8217;s Sepahijala district, the BJP overwhelmingly won the by-elections for the Dhanpur and Boxanagar assembly seats, dealing a severe blow to the opposition alliance INDIA&#8217;s plans to challenge the BJP-led NDA in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tafajjal Hossain of the BJP won the Boxanagar seat, while Bindu Debnath won the tribally significant Dhanpur seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chandy Oommen of the Congress-UDF coalition won the Puthuppally by-election in Kerala by a margin of more than 36,000 votes, dealing a severe blow to the state&#8217;s ruling CPI(M). Mr. Ommen, the late Congress stalwart Oommen Chandy&#8217;s son, gained a decisive advantage in the first round and held onto it throughout the vote-counting process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Tripura for making the BJP victorious in the Baxanagar and Dhanpur assembly bye-elections. After Chandan Ram Das, a cabinet minister and four-time MLA, passed away in April, byelections were held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dara Singh Chauhan, a well-liked OBC leader and the incumbent MLA for the Uttar Pradesh assembly district of Ghosi, left the Samajwadi Party and joined the BJP. His departure forced a by-election in Ghosi, where Sudhakar Singh of the Samajwadi Party is currently leading by about 20,000 votes, according to the most recent trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Trinamool Congress (TMC), an ally of the opposition, is being challenged by two INDIA block parties in West Bengal: the Congress and the CPI(M). Nirmal Chandra Roy of the TMC is currently ahead of Tapasi Roy of the BJP, who had previously claimed the lead.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Dumri Assembly by-election in the Giridih district of Jharkhand, Yashoda Devi of the AJSU Party held a lead of 1,551 votes over Bebi Devi of the JMM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dhanpur, Dghugpuri, and Bageshwar were three of the seven seats up for election that were held by the BJP. The Samajwadi party held the seat in Ghosi, while the JMM held the seat in Jharkhand.
