The Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a go ahead to the continuation of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) to facilitate 7.5 million LPG connections. The extension will span for three years, from the financial year 2023-24 to 2025-26, will a total allotment of Rs 1650 crore, as per reports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news follows after Centre reduced LPG prices by Rs 200 in response to oil companies increasing domestic LPG prices at the end of August. As far as reports are concerned, the scheme will provide connections at rates of 14.2 kg single bottle for Rs 2,200 per connection, 5 kg double bottle for Rs 2,200 per connection and 5 kg single bottle for Rs 1300 per connection.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the development, Union Minister Anurag Thakur stated that following the decision to minimize the LPG prices by Rs 200, Cabinet has approved the extension of PMUY for the release of 75 lakh LPG connections, along with a total financial application of Rs 1650 crore.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
