Delhi, NCR residents woke up to moderate rainfall, gusty winds along with warnings from the Indian Meteorological Department on Friday morning. The weather forecasting agency asked the residents to exercise caution and be prepared for adverse conditions during the morning hours. Reportedly, a yellow alert has been issued in Delhi for Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Issuing a bulletin, IMD noted that thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain with heavy intensity rain over few places and gusty winds with speed of 50-70 Km\/h would occur over and adjoining areas of entire Delhi and NCR namely Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh, Gannaur, Sonipat, Kharkhoda (Haryana) Sakoti Tanda, Hastinapur, Baraut, Meerut, Modinagar, Pilakhua, Hapur, Daurala, Bagpat, Khekra (Uttar pradesh).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bulletin further read that light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhla, Khatauli, Chandpur, Kithor, Garhmukteshwar, Gulaoti, Sikandrabad (Uttar Pradesh) during next 2 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The heavy rainfall is expected to lead to traffic congestion and occasional reductions in visibility may pose challenges for drivers. In addition, routine outdoor activities and business operations are likely to be affected owing to adverse weather conditions. On the other hand, plantations, horticulture, and standing crops may suffer damage as a result of the heavy rainfall. Farmers are advised to take preventive measures to protect their crops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, vulnerable structures may experience partial damage, including kutcha houses, walls, and huts. Heavy rainfall could also lead to localized flooding of roads, making them impassable. According to PTI reports, waterlogging was also witnessed in several parts of the national capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With heavy rainfall lashing Delhi-NCR and adjoining areas, the IMD urged commuters to stay updated on traffic advisories issued by local authorities. Road conditions can change rapidly during heavy rainfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
