The search for India’s official Oscars 2024 submission has already started. According to a report, films like Gadar 2, Balagam, The Kerala Story by Vivek Agnihotri, Zwigato by Kapil Sharma, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani by Karan Johar are among those being evaluated for India’s official entry to the Academy Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a source, a 17-member committee led by director Girish Kasaravalli has been established and is now screening films in Chennai. This committee reportedly received over 22 submissions from all throughout India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of the films that have been submitted to the Film Federation of India for Oscar consideration include Anant Mahadevan’s The Storyteller (Hindi), Music School (Hindi), Mrs Chatterjee vs. Norway (Hindi), 12th Fail (Hindi), Viduthalai Part 1 (Tamil), Ghoomer (Hindi), and Dasara (Telugu), as per reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vaalvi (Marathi), Gadar 2 (Hindi), Ab Toh Sab Bhagwan Bharose (Hindi), and Baap Lyok (Marathi) could be added to the list. We have their application, but we’re awaiting payment, the insider continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India’s official Oscars 2024 participation will likely be decided upon and announced later this month. The screening began yesterday and will last a week because there is a sizable pool of films to be seen before they make a decision.
