The winners of the Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 are scheduled to take home USD 4 million of the USD 10 million overall prize pool, according to a statement made by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on September 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team that finishes second in the Final, which will be played on November 19 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, will be awarded USD 2 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the Group Stage, all 10 teams will play each other once in a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. Teams receive USD 40,000 for each win during the Group Stage as part of the total prize money. Teams who fail to qualify past the group stage will receive $100,000 each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the ICC announcing equal amounts for both men’s and women’s events during the Annual Conference held in Durban, South Africa in July 2023, the prize money additionally sets the precedent for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 13th edition of the prestigious competition will feature a total of 10 teams competing for the prized World Cup trophy. While New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa advanced from the Super League, India qualified by virtue of serving as the hosts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To go to the World Cup, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands have to battle it out in the qualifying rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The biggest men’s event in cricket will feature 48 games spread across 10 sites, starting on October 5 with a rematch of the previous edition’s Final between the reigning Champions England and New Zealand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each side will compete in two exhibition games before the World Cup to prepare for the 46-day competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
