India’s star Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra with his greatest throw wins the gold medal with a tremendous distance of 88.88 metres, while Kishore Jena takes home the silver with a throw that reaches 87.54 metres.

However, due to a technical glitch that occurred during the men’s javelin event at the Asian Games 2023, Chopra’s first throw was not recorded by the organisers.

Neeraj appeared to be in excellent form as he executed a huge throw on his very first try and appeared to have comfortably surpassed the 85-meter barrier. Neeraj was requested to retake the throw when the event management were confused because they were unable to accurately measure the throw owing to a technological issue. Neeraj’s first official try was for 82.38 metres, and he then made an even better attempt for 84.49 metres.
