A seven-story building in Mumbai’s Goregaon caught fire, leaving seven people dead and more than 40 injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a statement from the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the fire broke out at the Jay Bhavani building in Goregaon West’s Azad nagar neighbourhood at 3 am. Two hospitals in Mumbai, HBT Hospital and Cooper Hospital, received the injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two of the seven fatalities from the fire were children. Twelve men and 28 women, including one minor, made up the 40 injured people. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to the family members of those who lost their lives in the incident. The CM also said that those who are injured will be given government treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
