Israel has declared a state of war after a fierce rocket attack from the blockaded Gaza strip. Palestine\u2019s Hamas militant said that this was only their first strike. More than 5000 rockets pierced the sky towards Israel on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Israel\u2019s defence forces also alerted an alleged infiltration by Hamas militants, who are considered terrorists in the country. Visuals from Israel showed that paragliders were also used in the attack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Issuing a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that he will shortly convene a meeting of security chiefs. The statement further asserted that Hamas will pay a heavy price for its actions. The recent violence marks another big escalation in geopolitics in recent years after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Israel Defence Forces mentioned that a number of terrorists have infiltrated into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. Residents in the area surrounding the Gaza Strip have been asked to stay in their homes, the defence force added. Reports said that sirens are blazing in the holy city of Jerusalem and across Israel as multiple points of impact have been reported across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The armed wing of Hamas declared that it has commenced Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and claimed that it has fired more than 5,000 rockets in the first strike of 20 minutes. The group underlined that they have decided to put an end to all the crimes of the occupation (Israel) and that their time for rampaging without being held accountable is over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A government statement mentioned that on Shabbat and the holiday of Simchat Torah, non-stop rocket sirens are sounding across Israel, including Jerusalem. It noted that the country is under terrorist infiltration conducted by the Hamas terrorist organisation.
