In yet another tragic incident, a 4-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by the driver of a van that ferried children to a private play school in Madhya Pradesh\u2019s Indore, according to police. The incident follows a week after the rape of a 12-year-old girl in Ujjain that sent shockwaves across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police have arrested the van driver, identified as Sumit, on Friday evening based on a complaint lodged by the parents of the child. Reports said that the assault came to light when the mother noticed the girl\u2019s unusual behaviour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The girl complained of pain in her private part and informed her mother that the accused had touched her private parts and sexually assaulted her, Sanyogitaganj Police Station in-charge Vijay Tiwari said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police official further added that the parents brought the child to the police station and then she was sent for medical examination. The police collected the accused driver\u2019s details from the private play school and arrested him in the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The accused has been booked under sections 376(3) rape on woman under 16 years of age, 354; assault or criminal force to any woman and 506; criminal intimidation of the Indian Penal Code and relevant provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A week ago, a 12-year-old girl was raped in Ujjain. The incident took place when the victim was wandering across the streets of Ujjain after she left her home in search for a better life. She was seen semi-naked on CCTV, visiting door-to-door, desperate for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police arrested two auto rickshaw drivers in connection with the case on September 28. The auto rickshaw drivers were identified as Bharat Soni and Rakesh Malviya.
