In a tragic incident, one labourer died after an under-construction flyover collapsed in Madhya Pradesh\u2019s Jabalpur. The incident took place near Shivaji Showk. Six labourers were trapped under the debris. The injured labourers have been shifted to a private hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jabalpur Chief Superintendent of Police, Ritesh Kumar told ANI that a flyover was being constructed near Shivaji Showk and during this six labourers were buried in debris. The police official affirmed that the injured have been shifted to a hospital and that they have received information about one death. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports stated that all the labourers got trapped when a mound of mud fell on them. All the labourers are said to be residents of Barabari, Jharkhand. The Chief Superintendent of Police further mentioned that investigation into the matter is underway in an effort to determine the cause of the flyover collapse. Ritesh Kumar ascertained that required action will be taken. Reports stated that the response efforts are at the site and the area has been sealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had inaugurated a part of the state\u2019s largest under-construction flyover. A flyover is being built from Madan Mahal area to Damoh Naka area in Jabalpur by the Union MInistry of Road Transport and Highways at a cost of Rs 1100 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier in March, nearly 135 people were killed and over a dozen were injured after a rooftop of a step well at Indore\u2019s Beleshwar Mahadev temple collapsed during a havan programme. Nearly 140 rescuers used ropes and ladder to pull out the bodies from the well after pumping out the water. Underwater cameras showed bodies floating in the muddy water of the well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The temple authorities had stopped using the well years ago and had covered the mouth with iron grills and tiles.
