Cricket will compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, according to approval from the International Olympics Committee. After 128 years, cricket is back in the Olympics after being officially approved at the 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These sports are perfectly aligned with the American sports culture of 2028, and they will simultaneously introduce international sports to the United States and highlight iconic American sports to the global audience. Conversely, their inclusion will make it possible for the Olympic Movement to interact with new athletes and fan bases both domestically and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The three sports that were left out of the original LA 2028 sports schedule were also examined by the IOC EB, the IOC president continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cricket has not been a part of the Olympic Games since England’s 1900 gold medal victory over France in a one-off match in Paris. However, the sport has been present at two Commonwealth Games, in Kuala Lumpur in 1998 and Birmingham in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
