Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced that Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries will be given a cooking gas cylinder free of cost as a Diwali Gift. The chief minister made the announcement during an event in Bulandshahr where he laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth Rs 632 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The projects include 104 projects which are worth Rs 208 crore that have been inaugurated, and 152 projects worth Rs 424 crore whose foundation stone has been laid. \u00a0Adityanath said Prime minister Narendra Modi has given a gift to every family through the Ujjwala yojana and decreased the cylinder prices by Rs 300. He added the UP government has decided to give one cooking cylinder free of cost as\u00a0 Diwali gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adityanath said getting LPG connections was a difficult task as the current BJP government came to power in 2014. He said almost 1.75 crore families have benefitted from the Ujjwala scheme.The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala yojana is a central government initiative that gives financial support for LPG connections to below poverty line families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adityanath said in the last nine years a new india has been witnessed under the leadership of Prime minister Narendra Modi. This new India is prosperous, powerful and self reliant. He said the new India has benefited all categories of citizens and people which also included the youth and women of India. He further added Beti bachao beti padhao has reached a point where Annu Rani (javelin) and Parul Chowdhary (women\u2019s 5000m) are winning gold medals in the Asian games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The chief minister announced both the Asian games gold medalists will be awarded Rs 3 crore, silver medal winners will be given Rs 1.5 crore and the bronze medalists will given Rs 75 lakh by the state government.
