During visit to Israel, US President Joe Biden will pose tough questions in meetings with Israeli leaders after a strike on a Gaza hospital killed hundreds of Palestinians. White House spokesperson John Kirby mentioned that the US President will meet with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli war cabinet and seek to understand Israel\u2019s plans and objectives in the days and weeks ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports stated that at least 500 people, including women and children were killed in a massive blast at a hospital in Gaza city on Tuesday night. The Hamas group blamed an Israeli airstrike for causing the blast, while the Israeli Defence Force asserted that a rocket misfired by a Palestinian militant group hit the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John Kirby stated that Joe Biden will be asking some tough questions and he will be asking as a friend, as a true friend of Israel, but he will be asking questions of them. However, the White House spokesperson refused to specify the nature of the questions Biden intended to ask beyond what Israel\u2019s plans are going forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joe Biden is flying to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Nonetheless, a meeting with Arab leaders in Jordan has been postponed following the destruction at the Gaza hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden expressed outrage over the blast and directed his national security team to continue gathering information to gain a clearer understanding of the events leading up to the explosion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Issuing a statement, Joe Biden expressed that he is outraged and deeply saddened by the explosion at the Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza, and the terrible loss of life that resulted. He added that the United States stands unequivocally for the protection of civilian life during conflict, and that they mourn the patients, medical staff and other innocents killed or wounded in this tragedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the visit, Joe Biden is likely to meet with Israeli first responders and families of those who lost loved ones in the Hamas assault or whose family members were taken hostage.
