US President Joe Biden met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday and affirmed that the US will continue to support the Jewish nation and ensure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself. The US President\u2019s visit follows amidst the Israel-Hamas war and a day after the Gaza hospital strike that claimed the lives of nearly 500 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the bilateral meeting, Joe Biden told Benjamin Netanyahu that the blast at the al-Ahli hospital in Gaza appeared to have been done by other team. Notably, Hamas blamed Israel for the blast, while Israel’s military has claimed that a failed rocket launch by Islamic Jihad, a Palestinian terror group, was responsible for the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joe Biden asserted that Hamas, which is designated as a terrorist organisation by both the US and Israel, slaughtered more than 1,300 people, including 31 Americans. He added that Hamas have taken scores of people hostage, including children. He further claimed that the group has committed atrocities that make the Islamic State (ISIS) look somewhat more rational. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joe Biden said the aforesaid statement in reference to the terror group which was infamous for abducting and beheading foreign nationals. US President Biden said Hamas did not represent the Palestinian people and noted that the group only brought suffering to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, PM Netanyahu thanked Biden for standing with Israel today, tomorrow and always. The Prime Minister underlined that just as the civilised world united to defeat the Nazis, and united to defeat ISIS, the civilised world must unite to defeat Hamas for peace and security in the region, and in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Netanyahu further remarked that Biden was the first US President to visit Israel during the time of war and termed it deeply moving. He mentioned that the visit speaks to the depth of Biden\u2019s personal commitment to Israel and the depth of his personal commitment to the future of the Jewish people and the one and only Jewish state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Israeli leader called the cooperation truly unprecedented and thanked Biden for providing Israel with the tools we need to defend themselves and for the clear message that he sent to Israel\u2019s enemies not to test their resolve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
