Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke to the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas to convey his condolences about the loss of lives after the bombing of Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. Nearly 500 people have died at the hospital on Monday, triggering protests across the Arab world and a string of denials from Israel. The Israeli Defence Force asserted that a rocket misfired by a Palestinian militant group hit the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi said that he spoke to the Palestinian Authority H.E Mahmoud Abbas and conveyed condolences at the loss of civilian lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. He added that India will continue to send humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi further stated that he shared deep concern at the terrorism, violence and deteriorating security situation in the region. He underlined that he echoed India\u2019s long-standing principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier on Wednesday, a day after the Gaza hospital strike took place, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that he is deeply shocked at the tragic loss of lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. Narendra Modi expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He stated that civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict are a matter of serious and continuing concern. He asserted that those involved should be held responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On October 7, when Hamas attacked Israel, Narendra Modi said that he was deeply shocked by the news of a terrorist attack in the country. He added that their thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. He further conveyed that India stands in solidarity with Israel at this difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
US President Joe Biden, who is currently on a visit to Israel, has said an errant rocket fired by a terrorist group caused a devastating explosion at the Gaza hospital. Joe Biden chaired a meeting with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and extended support to the war-torn country.
