Hardik Pandya was substituted for Suryakumar to increase the batting power because the former was unable to play due to a left ankle injury he suffered during India&#8217;s previous match against Bangladesh in Pune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, India benched Thakur, a fast bowling all-rounder, in favour of Shami to bolster their bowling in Hardik&#8217;s absence. Due to the two modifications, India will has only&nbsp;five bowlers available for use against New Zealand.
