French President Emmanuel Macron landed in Tel Aviv on September 24 to express solidarity with Israel after several lost their lives in the Israel-Hamas conflict since October 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the attack by Hamas militants on Israel from the Gaza Strip, when people in Israel were celebrating their festival, around 1,400 people were killed and the Hamas kept many of them hostages. There were 30 French citizens among them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On his visit, the French President expressed his country\u2019s full solidarity with Israel after the attack by Hamas militants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Macron and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a joint press conference at 1:00 pm today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The French President also called for the preservation of the civilian population in Gaza Strip. Since October 7, Israel has been bombarding relentlessly in Gaza due to which many civilians have lost their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, more than 5,000 people have died during Israel\u2019s attacks, most of them were women and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the reports, Macron called for a humanitarian truce to allow aid in Gaza. Earlier, Israel cut off water, food, electricity and other basic supplies in Gaza after the Hamas attack, due to which 2.4 million people have been affected and living in fear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The French head of state had been scheduled to meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog, as well as opposition leaders Benny Gantz and Yair Lapid in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was scheduled to meet the families of French and French-Israeli nationals who were either killed in the Hamas attack or held hostage in Gaza, in Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the more than 200 hostages taken by Hamas, one of them is a French woman, and she is among the seven French citizens who are still missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Macron, the others are believed to be hostages, but confirmation is still pending.\u00a0The French president is committed to preventing a dangerous escalation in the region, as per the Elysee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
