Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said the Congress party has made a commitment to conduct a caste census in poll bound Chhattisgarh once the party returns to power. He was addressing a public rally in Chhattisgarh\u2019s Kabirdham . Gandhi hit at Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central government as the Congress party does not work for the marginilised population but for businessmen like Gautam Adani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gandhi said PM Modi does not work for the Adivasis, OBC\u2019s and the Dalits. He said when the Congress party came to power in New Delhi, the party decided that it would conduct a caste census. He said there are two types of government one that works only for the rich people and the other that works for the farmers, labourers and youth of the country. He said the people have to decide which government they want to elect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While addressing a public rally in Rajnandgaon Rahul Gandhi said farm loan in Chattisgarh will be waved off. He said this will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the growth and development of the other Backward classes. Gandhi said five years ago the Congress party made 4-5 promises to the people of Chattisgarh. Gandhi said the party has promised the government would listen to the voices of farmers and labourers. The promises included waving off farm loans and procuring paddy at Rs 2500 per quintal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gandhi said the Congress party had promised Rs 2500 per quintal for farmers but delivered more. He asked the people whether the Congress party had fulfilled all its promises or not. The first phase of elections will be held on November 7. After the first phase of elections on November 7, the remaining 70 states in the state will go for elections on November 17.
