Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia will stay incarcerated for an additional six months after the Supreme Court denied him bail in the Delhi liquor policy case today. The court noted that a money trail totaling Rs 338 crore had been established in the case and directed that the trial be finished within 6\u20138 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the trial moves slowly,\u00a0Sisodia could submit another application for bail, a two-judge panel made up of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Khanna while they have mentioned the arguments and addressed certain legal concerns, they have not addressed the majority of them. A few components of the Rs 338 crore transfer that are proved in the research are questionable. Justice Khanna further said, they have denied the bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, said that the Supreme Court’s decision to refuse Sisodia’s bail makes it very evident that the AAP leadership is corrupt. Arvind Kejriwal will certainly be arrested because the AAP leadership is involved in corruption, Tiwari said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s key adviser, Sisodia, was detained in February in relation to the purported liquor scandal and has remained behind bars ever since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He denied any wrongdoing, but he is facing two cases: one from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the other from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On February 28, Sisodia announced his resignation from the cabinet. Prior to his detention, he served as the Deputy Chief Minister in the Kejriwal administration. At the time, he was managing eighteen portfolios, including the Excise Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sisodia’s detention, according to the AAP, was an assault on the Delhi model of government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
