He said the government is giving utmost importance to the case and it will continue to make all efforts to secure their release. The foreign minister took to X (formerly twitter) and wrote he fully shared the concerns and pains of the family members. He stated the government will continue to work closely with the families in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On October 26 a Qatar court gave a death sentence to eight Indian men who were previously employed with the Indian Navy. The Men were arrested on undeclared charges which were believed to be espionage in August 2022. All of them when they were arrested they were working for a private company Dahra Global.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Met this morning with the families of the 8 Indians detained in Qatar.<br><br>Stressed that Government attaches the highest importance to the case. The foreign minister was deeply shocked by the verdict of the death penalty and was waiting the detailed judgement. The ministry was in touch with the legal team and family members. The ministry said it is exploring all legal options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry further added it is giving high importance to the case and have been following it closely. The ministry said they will take up the verdict with the Qatari authorities. On August 30 2022 the eight men were arrested in Qatar. They were working for Dahra Global at that time In October 2022 Consellor access was granted to them. In March 2023 the last of the many bail pleas filed for the Navy veterans was rejected. In May 2023 Dahra Global closed all its operations. In August 2023 the solitary confinement of the eight men ended and they were put together with two men in each cell.
