With only three weeks till the Rajasthan assembly elections, the Congress party unveiled its sixth list of nominees late on Saturday, announcing 23 candidates on the final day of nominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eleven additional candidates have been presented by the party, including Ajit Beniwal from Bhadra, PCC secretary Prashant Sharma from Amber, and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) member Abhimanyu Poonia, who is running from the Sangaria seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Congress Jaipur district president RR Tiwari has been fielded by the party in lieu of chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s loyalist, minister Mahesh Joshi, from the Hawa Mahal constituency. Tiwari is going to make his debut contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joshi was one of the three Congress leaders that the party leadership warned in September 2022 for being unruly and disobeying orders from the party’s top command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding housing and urban development, minister Shanti Dhariwal of Kota-North has not made a decision. Additionally, the party decided to support the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) instead of running for the Bharatpur seat. In order for current minister Subhash Garg to run for the Bharatpur seat, the Congress has maintained its alliance with the RLD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Congress has announced 179 candidates for the November 25 polls out of the 200 assembly constituency. The nomination period ends on November 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The list indicates that Gopal Meena from Jamwa Ramgarh, Virendra Singh from Danta Ramgarh, Kishnaram Bishnoi from Lohawat, and Meena Kanwar from Shergarh are the four MLAs that the Congress has fielded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Shahpura assembly has refused to issue a ticket to independent MLA Alok Beniwal, and Manish Yadav has been nominated in his stead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ajay Agarwal, an Alwar native and former head of the municipal council, is the party’s nominee. Saroj Choudhary, the vice president of the Mahila Congress, was nominated from Ahore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 200-member Rajasthan assembly election is set to have its polling day on November 25 and its vote counting date on December 3. In the 2018 Rajasthan assembly elections, the BJP won 73 seats and the Congress won 99.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
