Nearly five people lost their lives in a massive collision between a tanker truck and a car near Manakadau in Tirupur district on Thursday. Among the five people, four people died on the spot while one surrendered to his injuries during treatment at Dharampur Government Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports said that the deceased were identified as Tamilmani (51), Chitra (49), Selvarani (70), Balakrishnan (78) and Kalarani (50). The incident occured when the tanker truck transporting petrol from Irugur in Coimbatore near Manakadu on the Dhrapuram-Palani road rammed into the car travelling from Periyanayakan Palayam in Coimbatore district to Palani in Dindigul district for a wedding ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Expressing his condolences over the unfortunate incident, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the family of the deceased in the accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier in September, at least 7 women returning from Karnataka were killed in a freak accident in Tirupathur, Tamil Nadu when a stationary van crushed them after being hit from the rear by a lorry. Nearly 13 persons who were injured in the mishap involving the two vehicles were admitted to local government hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced a solatium of Rs one lakh to each of the affected families along with Rs 50,000 through the Chief Minister\u2019s Public Relief Fund to the injured undergoing treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Wednesday night in Firozabad as many as three men were killed after their bike collided with a truck and they fell on the road before being run over by a speeding car on the highway near the Katfori outpost in Firozabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports said that the deceased were identified as Brijesh Kumar (28), Pramod Singh (34) and Gopi (33) and were all residents of Firozabad. Later, the bodies were sent for post-mortem and an investigation into the case was underway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
