Adopting the motion for suspension, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said O\u2019Brien disrupted the proceedings of the House by entering into the Well of the house, continuously shouting slogans gesticulating at the chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Trinamool Congress MP was raising slogans along with opposition members demanding Union Home minister Amit Shah to come into the Parliament and make a statement on the security breach that led to two persons jumping into the chamber of the house from the visitor\u2019s gallery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Rajya Sabha adopts motion for suspension of TMC MP Derek O&#39; Brien for the remainder part of the winter session for &quot;ignoble misconduct&quot; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/A3MVk0Top9\">pic.twitter.com\/A3MVk0Top9<\/a><\/p>&mdash; ANI (@ANI) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ANI\/status\/1735188914980426036?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 14, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, Derek O\u2019 Brien will not be able to participate in the rest of the winter session for unruly behaviour and defying the chair during the proceedings on Thursday morning. The Winter session is scheduled to take place till December 22. The Upper House of the parliament has adopted a motion for suspension of the TMC MP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nine more MPs have been suspended from Lok Sabha for the remainder of the winter session of the Parliament over unruly behaviour. The MPs include Manickam Tagore, S Venkatesan, SR Parthiban, K Subrahmanyam, Kanimozhi Karunanidh, PR Natarajan, Mohammad Jawed, VK Sreekandan, Benny Behanan. A total of 15 MPs, including Rajya Sabha MP Derek O\u2019 Brien have been suspended from parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soon after the TMC MP was named by the Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and was asked to leave the House. Despite the warning from the Chair, O Brien and some other opposition members continued to protest, and demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah be present in the House to answer for yesterday\u2019s security breach incident. Speaker Om Birla said everybody is concerned about the incident.
