Following an explosion at an explosives manufacturing factory iin Maharashtra’s Nagpur district on Sunday, at least nine persons lost their lives in the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the police, the blast happened at Solar Industries in the Nagpur village of Bazaargaon. This incident occurred about 9 am as workers were loading in a cast booster unit for the company, police said. A spike in the death toll is anticipated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Four additional persons suffered injuries in the explosion and were taken to a local hospital to receive medical attention. Police said that a search and rescue operation is in progress and that they suspect several individuals are trapped inside the factory. The cause of this explosion is still unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis\u00a0expressed condolences for the unfortunate event and promised to provide Rs 5 lakh in financial assistance to the relatives of those who lost their lives in the incident. Senior police officers are at the scene of the event to assess the situation, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he said, it is extremely tragic that the explosion at Solar Industries in Nagpur claimed the lives of nine workers, six of them were women. This company produces explosives and drones for the armed forces. The IG, SP, and Collector are present, while the Nagpur Collector and Superintendent of Police are in constant communication. The relatives of those who perished in this disaster will receive support from the state government in the amount of Rs 5 lakh, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As soon as they heard of this incident, a police team rushed to the site. TheSP Nagpur (Rural) Harsh Poddar inspected the situation and confirmed that till now there is a report that 9 people have lost their lives. He also said, this blast happened at the time of packing in the cast booster plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The corporation supplies the country’s defence department with explosives and other defence equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
