The Enforcement Directorate (ED) called Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to question him over the money laundering case related to the excise scheme that was cancelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Thursday, December 21, he has been asked to appear before the agency. Arvind Kejriwal has received one summon from the Enforcement Directorate, this the second time he has been called.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arvind Kejriwal was asked by the financial watchdog to appear before it on November 2 of last month. The head of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), however, had ignored the summons, claiming it was unlawful and intended for political purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kejriwal had chosen to campaign for his party in Madhya Pradesh rather than respond to the summons. The AAP leader then sent a letter to the ED explaining that he was too busy campaigning in Madhya Pradesh to attend. Amid rumours that day he would be taken into custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, two of Arvind Kejriwal’s party leaders, were taken into custody by the central investigative agency in relation to the same issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In April of this year, the CBI also questioned Arvind Kejriwal on the purported liquor scam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After being questioned for more than nine hours at the CBI headquarters in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal spoke to the media and saisd the investigation team had asked him 56 questions. The CBI questioned witnesses for nine and a half hours. He said, he responded to every question. The whole purported alcohol fraud is a sham and a poor political move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Delhi CM called his party, AAP, a kattar imaandaar party. Kejriwal said, the people of this country supported them, even though they (opposition)\u00a0want to finish the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to reigniting discussions about his party being named as an accused in this case, a first for Indian politics,\u00a0Kejriwal has received a new summons.
