The two-time World Cup champion and former captain of India, MS Dhoni, revealed his post-retirement plans, stating that he would like to devote more time to the Indian Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After retiring from international cricket in 2019, Dhoni has been a member of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Under his leadership, CSK defeated the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Narendra Modi Stadium final in Ahmedabad to win their fifth IPL title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eight players were released by CSK after the 2023 season, in advance of the IPL 2024 retention deadline. They proceeded to sign six players: Mustafizur Rahman (Rs 2 crore), Shardul Thakur (Rs 4 crore), Sameer Rizvi (Rs 8.4 crore), Rachin Ravindra (Rs 1.8 crore), Daryl Mitchell (Rs 14 crore), and Avanish Rao Aravelly (Rs 20 lakh).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During an even, the former Indian caption was asked his post retirement plans from CSK. In response to the fan’s query Dhoni said, he would like to continue serving in the Army for a little while when he retires. After his win over GT in the previous season’s championship match, Dhoni said he would play for a minimum of another year. The video from this event quickly went viral on the social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dhoni said, he have never thought about it. He is still playing in IPL. He further said, it will be very interesting to see what he ends up doing after cricket. \u201cI think for sure, I want to spend a bit more time with the Army because last few years I have not been able to do that,\u201d said Dhoni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, for the upcoming season IPL, CSK squad includes MS Dhoni as captian while, Moeen Ali, Deepak Chahar, Devon Conway, Ravindra Jadeja, Ajay Mandal, Mukesh Choudhary, Matheesha Pathirana, Ajinkya Rahane, Shaik Rasheed, Mitchell Santner, Simarjeet Singh, Nishant Sindhu, Prashant Solanki, Maheesh Theekshana, Rachin Ravindra, Shardul Thakur, Daryl Mitchell, Sameer Rizvi, Mustafizur Rahman and Avanish Rao Aravelly as other teammates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
