The Union Health Ministry on Saturday said India saw a single-day rise of 752 Covid-19 infections, which is the highest since May 21, while the active cases reached 3420. The spike in fresh Covid cases came amid  concerns over an increase in sub-variant JN.1 cases. Four new deaths were reported \u2013 two from Kerala and one each in Rajasthan and Karnataka in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 5,33,332.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case fertility rate was recorded at 1.18 percent. India\u2019s Covid case tally stood at 4.5 crore. According to the Ministry data updated at 8 am today, 17 states saw an uptick in active cases of Covid-19. Of them, Kerala (266), Karnataka (70), Gujarat (12), Tamil Nadu (13) and Maharashtra (15) were some of the affected states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
