In a tragic incident, nearly six brick kiln workers were killed and several others sustained injuries after the wall of the structure collapsed on Tuesday morning. A police official asserted that the incident took place in Lahboli village of Haridwar in Uttarakhand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the incident occured, police and administrative officers including senior superintendent of police (SSP) Pramendra Dobhal hurried to the spot to supervise the rescue operations. Reports said that the injured were admitted to a local hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The district police PRO stated that they received information that at around 8:30 am that the wall of a brick kiln had collapsed in Lahboli village under Manglaur police station. He added that at least six people have been confirmed dead, while several others have sustained injuries. He affirmed that the injured have been rushed to a hospital and SSP Pramendra Dobhal is at the spot. Police personnel present at the accident spot asserted that the debris were being removed through mechanical excavators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports said that several labourers and cattle got buried under the debris as soon as the incident took place. The concerned administration officers of the JCB immediately reached the spot after receiving the information and currently, a rescue operation is being carried out to bring out the trapped labourers and cattle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nonetheless, more than a hundred people were saved safely, as per reports. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the last month, a portion of the Silkyara Bend\u2013Barkot tunnel, which was to link National Highway 134 in the Uttarkashi region of Uttarakhand collapsed while it was still being built. Nearly 41 workers were trapped in the under construction tunnel for more than two weeks.
