Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has apologised for an incorrect translation of a shloka from the Bhagavad Gita which had triggered a row. The Assam Chief Minister\u2019s social media post had landed him in the crosshairs of the Opposition with several leaders accusing him of promoting caste divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CM Sarma issued an apology and said that the verse had been posted on his X account by his team to keep up his tradition of sharing one Gita shloka daily with his followers. He added that  as a routine he uploads one shloka of Bhagavad Gita every morning on his social media handles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that till date, he has posted 668 shlokas and recently one of his team members posted a sloka from Chapter 18 verse 44 with an incorrect translation. He further asserted that he deleted the social media post as soon as he noticed the mistake. He said that if the deleted post has offended anyone, he sincerely apologises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a routine I upload one sloka of Bhagavad Gita every morning on my social media handles. Till date, I have posted 668 slokas.
