As Bangladesh goes to the polls today, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina extended her wishes for India and said that Bangladesh is lucky to have a trusted friend like India. She also highlighted India\u2019s support during the Liberation War in 1971. In her message to India, Bangladesh Prime Minister Hasina said they are very lucky to have India is a trusted friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Hasina said during the liberation war India supported Bangladesh. PM Hasina recounted the horrors of her family\u2019s massacre in 1975, in which her whole family was killed and she lived in exile in India for years. She later returned to Bangladesh and took over Awami League. After casting her vote in the ongoing general elections, Hasina emphasized the importance of democracy for the development of the country on Sunday and said her government in past years has established people\u2019s democratic rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Hasina said Bangladesh is sovereign and independent and has a big population. She said she wanted to make sure democracy should continue in this country as without democracy, one cannot have any development. She said Bangladesh has a long term democratic system from 2009 to 2023. She said this was the reason Bangladesh made this much of achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
