Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in a veiled attack on Senas (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, on Saturday said some people lied to Shiv Sainiks and broke the natural alliance to become the Chief Minister and he rebelled against such individuals to save the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a run up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Shinde kicked off Shiv Sankalp campaign in Shirur and Maval constituencies on Saturday, where he came down heavily on Thackeray while addressing party workers. Shinde said some individuals betrayed their own people, insulted Shiv Sainiks and lied to break the natural alliance with BJP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Maharashtra CM while addressing the party workers said through this campaign, he is going to show those people their real place. Shinde recalled the toppling of the Thackeray-led MVA government one and a half years ago. He said everybody witnessed what had happened then. He said because of the support of the party workers, a small worker like him could become the chief minister of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shinde said he took drastic steps to save Shiv Sena. He said had he taken a wrong decision, he would not have got so much support from the Shiv sainiks. He said the party workers stood behind him as they knew that he was making the right choice. The Maharashtra CM pointed out that even today many leaders and workers from other parties are joining the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shinde said every leader tends to go with power, but nobody dares to go against it. He said despite being a minister in the MVA government, he chose to go against power only to keep Balasaheb Thackeray\u2019s real Shiv Sena alive. The Maharashtra CM took a dig at Uddhav Thackeray for becoming the chief minister of the state in 2019 and said in 1995, Balasaheb Thackeray had a chance to become the CM, but he chose a party worker for the post. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
