With the announcement of the India team for the three match T20I series against Afghanistan, the Ajit Agarkar-led selection has cleared the air over the participation of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the T20 World Cup 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former India cricketer said Rohit will be leading the side as discussions grew on whether Hardik Pandya should take over the role if the 37-year-old misses the tournament. Ganguly said Rohit Sharma should captain the team in the T20I World Cup. He said Virat Kohli also should be there. Before BCCI confirmed the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Ganguly backed both the veteran cricketers to feature In India\u2019s squad for the T20I World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though the two players have been absent from the shortest format for over 13 months, former India captain Sourav Ganguly said both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will lead the batting charge of the Indian team in the ICC event.
