The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and PDP chief, Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday met with a road accident while on her way to Khanabal to meet the victims of a fire incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, the incident took place in Sangam area in Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s Anantnag district. Mufti escaped unhurt, as per the PDP media cell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
PDP chief Mufti\u2019s daughter Iltija informed her mother\u2019s car met with a terrible accident en route to Anantnag today. Iltija thanked the god that her mother and security officers escaped unhurt without any serious injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the reports, the Mufti\u2019s car collided with another civilian in Sangam area of Anantnag district. She was on her way to meet the victims of a fire incident, that took place in Khanabal. The former CM of Jammu and Kashmir escaped unhurt while one of her security personnel sustained minor injuries. Mufti did not cancel her visit and moved ahead with the schedule. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reacting to Mehbooba Mufti\u2019s car accident news, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said he was glad to hear that she escaped without any injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I expect the government to enquire into the circumstances of the accident. Any gaps in her security that contributed to this accident must be addressed immediately, Abdullah said on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In another incident, BJP leader Neeraja Reddy died in a road accident in April, 2023. According to reports, the Telangana BJP leader was coming from Hyderabad to Kurnool when her car overturned after a tyre burst near Beechupally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was rushed to Sri Chakra Hospital but succumbed to her injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was the popular leader of the BJP in Telangana. In 2009, she won the election, as an Indian National Congress candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
