Three Sadhus from Uttar Pradesh, en route to the Gangasagar Mela in West Bengal, were attacked by a mob on Friday. As per the reports, the incident took place in Bengal\u2019s Purulia district after the sadhus were suspected to be kidnappers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Twelve persons have been arrested so far in this case. The arrested accused were presented before a court in the Purulia district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, three sadhus, a man and his two sons, \u00a0were en route to Gangasagar Mela for Makar Sankranti after hiring a vehicle. In the middle of their way, they inquired about the route from teenage girls, but the minors screamed and ran away. Locals around became suspicious, leading to an agitated crowd accusing sadhus of kidnapping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspicious mob assaulted the sadhus and the situation became out of control. After receiving the information about the situation, police reached the spot, rescued the sadhus and took them to the Kasipur Police Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the reports, locals also vandalised a police vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
